Just when the sun is about to set, in my opinion, is the best time to visit the The Ruins. One thing is for sure, when you visit Bacolod, this spot is not to be missed.
Who would have thought that this famous landmark would send shivers down my spine? The mixture of then and now toyed with my emotions and what seemed like an ordinary structure has made me shed a tear- tears of joy. I always loved the idea of fusing the old and the new and this European-inspired mansion had it all.
The golden hour worked its magic as we enter the garden of the mansion and turned the whole place from mundane to a romantic spot. It was such a rewarding experience to witness the whole landmark lit up as the sun was about to go down. With an entrance fee of 60php, we were able to get a glimpse of who, what, when, where, and how of the mansion. Every pillar served as a remembrance of Don Mariano Lacson’s family and every corner brought us back to the past.
I am definitely back in my homeland.
